Joanna Lynn-Jacobs is a mezzo-soprano and recent graduate from UCLA's department of Music, where she earned her Masters of Music in vocal performance studying with Michael Dean. Past opera roles at UCLA include the Countess in I Due Figaro, Despina in Cosè fan tutte and Carmen in The Tragedy of Carmen. Since graduating, Joanna has sung in Rand Steiger’s Nimbus, a part of LA Phil’s Green Umbrella series, as well as in The Industry’s, First Take, a showcase for new operas, and in LA Phil’s avant-garde world premier of Annie Gosfield's, War of the Worlds. She performed the title role in the play Venus by Susan Lori Parks, directed by Jayongela Wilder in the UCLA theater department. And she performed in schools and community centers all over Los Angeles with LA Opera Outreach.
